Cookies

This site sets no cookies. There is nothing to accept, decline, or manage.

Open Science Museum is static HTML. Reading a page here does not store a cookie on your device, and it does not use any other tracking or storage technology in its place — no local storage, no session storage, no IndexedDB, no cache-based identifier, no pixel, tag, beacon, or fingerprinting script. Nothing is loaded from a third-party host, so no other company can set a cookie through us either.

That means there is no consent banner on this site, and its absence is not an oversight. A banner would exist to ask permission for something we are not doing.

What would change this

Cookies and similar storage would only appear here if we added something that needed them. Realistically that means: an analytics or measurement tool; an embedded video, map, font, or social widget served by another company; a comment system; reader accounts or saved items; a newsletter signup that tracks opens; advertising or affiliate tracking of any kind; or a bot-protection or paywall layer that fingerprints visitors.

We have no plans to add any of them. Some we have ruled out permanently — there will be no advertising and no affiliate tracking on this site, as our editorial standards commit. Others are simply unnecessary for a site whose job is to publish pages.

If that ever changed, this page would be updated before the change went live, not after. It would name what was added, what it stores, how long for, and what your choices are — and where consent is required, it would be asked for properly rather than assumed. The privacy policy would be updated at the same time.

One thing does exist and is worth knowing about, though it does not involve cookies: our hosting provider keeps ordinary server access logs. That is described in the privacy policy. There is no contact form on this site, so nothing you type here is relayed through anyone else.

You can verify all of this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, look at the storage and network panels, and load any page on this site. You should see no cookies, no storage entries, and no requests to any host other than ours. If you find otherwise, that is a defect and we want to hear about it — lumingrade@gmail.com.
